Solitary Bees Collecting Azalea Pollen

   This little gray solitary bee probably can reach the nectar like the bumblebees with their long tongues. But she is gathering all the pollen she can get; her pollen baskets are loaded. It's likely she's a good pollinator, because she drags herself thru the male and female organs of the flowers. You can see the pistil sticking out a bit beyond her, as she works on a slightly shorter stamen to get its pollen load.
