Would you like to contribute to the photographic plant/pollinator database?
Several folks have sent observations that they have seen certain visitors on certain flowers. I would be glad to include these (with attribution), if you will give me your 1) name, 2) address, 3) e-mail address, 4) date, 5) time of day, if you can, and 6) location of your observations. I won't publish your address, if you wish, but need it for my records.
While I am including observations, these are intended to supplement the main purpose of the page, and that is to establish a photographic record. So, while I'm glad for observations, I'll be thrilled to get good pictures! No payment is offered for such pictures, but you will be attributed. This is a labor of love, for the advancement of knowledge about pollination. If you feel as I do, your input is welcomed and appreciated.
My focus is eastern USA and lower Ontario, Canada. Other areas can be included, with other volunteers.
All pictures need to be in JPG format, compressed enough for folks with slow modems, but not so much as to detract from the quality of the image. I try for a size, after cropping, of 300 to 600 pixels width. If you have a good picture and don't know how to edit for the web, I'll try to do it for you.
Be aware that I have taken many hundreds of pictures and it will probably be months before I get them all into the database. Right now I am trying to focus on currently blooming plants. It is a spare-time project and it eats a lot of it.
